why not, hes got one of the better stories in comics altogether. quite a contradiction too. on one hand he's rich enough to be set for life, on the other hand he was born a mutant (which is worse than being black, gay and jewish at the same time in the southern united states 200 years ago). unlike any of the other x-men he started being a hero before he was asked to join, of course something went wrong one time that altered his personality and cyke and iceman had to try to stop him, but xavier helped him get rid of a bomb by flying just below space and throwing it away until it blew up. he was alive for both of his parents deaths, both at the hands of his uncle. he even flew his dying mother(his uncle poisoned her) upward until she passed on. then theres the whole angel-archangel transformation which wouldn't have happened if he didnt risk his life in the morlock tunnels trying to find and bring a young mutant by the name of artie out of the tunnels. he got caught and tortured by the mauraders during the mutant massacre, and he gave them the satisfaction of hearing his scream in hopes that artie could get away. thor eventually made the save but was attacked by one of em called blockbuster. blockbuster would have had him too, but angel gaining consiousness used what little strength he had left in him to jump on blockbusters back, which gave thor the moment he needed to kick blockbusters ass. well the torture was enough for angels old "friend" cameron hodge to get a court order to amputate his wings. at which point angel tried commiting suicide cuz he's the only mutant that actually loved his ability. this was interupted by apocalypse who then turned him into what you can see in that pic. he would break away from apocalypses control..or at least break off the deal he had to work for apocalypse when he thought he killed iceman, so he left x-factor(the team he was a part of at the time, which consisted of the orignal x-men) to search for his girlfriend. only to watch cameron hodge kill her right in front of him. he would then cut hodges head off(which hodge survived due to a pact with a demon), being the first time to my recolection that anyone crossed the hero/anti-hero border. not only that but he crossed back over shortly afterward when he realized he was getting as agressive as wolverine, who he never liked. which is another interesting point about the guy, i mean why should everybody be wolerines friend simply cuz he's the 2nd most popular guy in marvel, and just accept the fact that he kills? anyway to make a long story short(er) he got his wings back when the metal wings broke off immediately after the ordeal with onslaught(which he and psylocke had nothing to do with due to injuries) was over(ie, the very next issue), and eventually he would get killed in scottland by black tom, only to have a new power kick in that brought him back to life, and the last i seen of him was in the latest issue of excalibur where he outmanueved/outraced flying vehicles with jets, caught up to one, and kicked it's pilots ass, while thinking how much he loves the lifestyle of being a super hero.

wasn't sure if i'd find it on a http or not. the differences are my desktop has the word "archangel" on the lower left, and the words "x-men gold team" underneath a red x on the lower right. plus his outfit looks red instead of pinkish
